Services

I offer a garden design service that is focused on creating beautiful outdoor spaces that are shaped around how you want to use them, from quiet everyday living to hosting, cooking, and gardening. Each project begins with a meeting with you to discuss your initial thoughts and this is followed by a garden assessment. From this, I develop a design that responds to your intent as well as the character and conditions of your garden.

Core Design Service

This core service forms the basis of all projects.

  • Initial consultation

  • Site survey & analysis

  • Concept design developed through to a final design

  • 10 high-quality visuals

  • Construction plans and detailing for contractors

  • Support for project handover to contractors

Design Extensions

Where appropriate, these extensions can be added.

  • Detailed planting design

  • Lighting design with 10 night-time visuals

  • Video walkthrough

How Projects Typically Proceed

For most gardens, the core design service is sufficient to move forward. Where appropriate, I will recommend extending the design to ensure that the design package is appropriate for both the client’s understanding and for clear interpretation by the contractor during the build. Throughout the project, I remain clear and communicative, ensuring the garden we design is the garden that is delivered.

The Process

1. Initial Meeting

I will visit your home to discuss your hopes for your garden, sharing initial ideas as we walk the site and explore design opportunities that suit your lifestyle.

4. Concept Design Presentation

The concept design depicts the layout of the proposed garden design, showing different areas such as seating areas and paths as well as types of planting such as plant beds or trees.

2. Moodboard Presentation

To ensure we're on the same page, I like to present some moodboard options with a variety of images, including specific plants, parts of gardens, and activities such as dining.

5. Final Design Presentation

The refined design with high-quality rendered images and a video walkthrough as well as construction plans of specific elements. Although this is the final design stage, adjustments can be made and presented again if necessary.

3. Site Survey

During this process I will survey the site for dimensions, undertake drainage tests, take soil samples for pH testing and take notes on the fluctuating light levels as well as other factors.

6. Project Handover

You will receive a shortlist of contractors to undertake the construction. I will also communicate with the contractors myself at the beginning to ensure that the design is created exactly how it has been agreed.
